Position Announcements The Galveston County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications at this time for employment. NOTICE: An Applicant interested in any of GCSO position's shall first download, complete and return the Request for Application Form, per the instructions on the downloadable form. The person requesting the application must be the Applicant. The Applicant must use his or her own E-mail address when requesting the application. If the Applicant does not have an E-mail address, the Applicant shall obtain one on his or her own, so a Recruiter can send the Applicant an application. GCSO WILL NOT mail applications through the US Postal Service*.
Application Assistance When the Applicant's "Request for Application" is processed, a GCSO Recruiter will E-mail the Applicant an application to the E-mail address provided on the request.
If you need assistance in printing and completing the Request for Application Form or the Application, you may contact the Texas Workforce Commission Office nearest to you for assistance.(http://www.workintexas.com) Applicants should ensure the E-mail address 'so.employment@co.galveston.tx.us' and the domain "co.galveston.tx.us has been added to the Applicant's E-mail "Safe Sender" list. The Applicant should check his or her E-mail's Inbox, "Spam", "Junk" or "Bulk" folders several times over the next two (2) weeks for receipt of the application. If the Applicant has not received the application within 14 business days; only then, the Applicant E-Mail a recruiter at so.employment@co.galveston.tx.us, for assistance. |

| When the application arrives in your E-Mail, the application shall be printed per the instructions in the E-mail. The applicant shall complete the application per the instructions on the application. The applicant shall attach all of the required documents, per the instructions on the application. When finalizing the application, the Applicant shall sign the application in the presence of a Notary. (Notaries are available at most banks.) Returning the Application
When the Applicant returns the application, there is shall be no expectation to speak to a recruiter or the Sheriff. Delivery by Certified Mail through the US Postal Service is the easiest practice. If the Applicant has to return the application in person to the Jail Visitation Lobby, it is HIGHLY ADVISED to avoid returning the application during the Jail Inmate Visitation Hours. The Jail Lobby Visitation Deputy assumes no responsibility in the acceptance, timeliness or completeness of the application. As a courtesy, if the Jail Visitation Lobby Deputy may check the application prior to receipt. It is the responsibility of the Applicant to ensure the application is ready for review. Applications with discrepancy's, missing documents, false or misleading information, will be removed from the application process.
