Commonly associated with retention ponds and detention ponds and are often found near subdivisions. The female deposits her eggs on the underside of leaves of floating plants. Larval habitat: Breeds in retention ponds, detention ponds, and other bodies of water with rooted emerged vegetation. Adult habitat: grass fields, shaded areas, and wooded areas Biting activity: Females prefer to bite during dusk and dawn but will bite during the day in the shade if disturbed. Flight range: 1-5 miles |
