The Galveston County Auto Crimes Task Force [ACTF] was founded in
March 1993 with an initial Grant from the Texas Automobile Theft
Prevention Authority [ATPA]. ACTF continues to receive funding from
the ATPA and local government entities. ACTF provides service to all
of Galveston County, as well as to Southern Harris County, Brazoria
County, and Matagorda County by request.
The original participating agencies were the Galveston County
Sheriff's Office, the Galveston Police
Department, the Hitchcock
Police Department, LaMarque Police
Department, the League City
Police Department, the Texas City Police
Department, and the Texas
City Fire Marshall's Office.
Currently the
participating Law Enforcement Agencies are:
Galveston
County Sheriffs Office
Galveston
County Pct 8 Constables Office
Santa Fe Police
Department
Dickinson
Police Department
Galveston Police
Department
Crime Prevention Programs play a large part in ACTF's efforts.
Providing speakers to civic groups and instructors to law
enforcement, manning mobile displays of theft deterrent devices, or
manning booths at the State Fair of Texas begins the education
process.
Additionally, ACTF provides analytical and investigative assistance
to all Galveston County Agencies regarding major criminal
occurrences. ACTF is dedicated to providing an unequalled level of
service to both the citizens of Galveston County and to all law
enforcement agencies in the area.
