County Museum Seeks to Expand its Collection of Galveston County History The Galveston County Historical Museum is currently seeking donations to join the approximately 15,000 papers, books, photographs and objects already in the museum’s care. The mission of the Galveston County Historical Museum is to further the knowledge of, and foster an appreciation for, the history and heritage of Galveston County. Recent donations have included items relating to a variety of Galveston County historical topics including WWII and other military history, Mardi Gras, farming, immigration, land, gambling, local businesses and Jean Lafitte.
